The main reason that Dr Clark left the government cancer research after 25 years and formed her own research facility is because she could see that the research was mainly being geared to the benefit of the pharmaceutical companies. She felt that people should have the choice of being able to treat themselves at home and not forced down the toxic route of chemotherapy. If I can elaborate a bit further, the pharmaceutical companies cannot make a profit unless they have a product that they can patent. Natural products and herbs usually cannot be patented as they are already in common use.
For example, centuries ago in the days of the sailing ships, the most feared disease amongst sailors was scurvy. It was discovered by the British Navy that something as simple as putting limes in the water would prevent and cure scurvy (that is where the British nickname of Limeys comes from). It is part of the reason why Britain had such a large empire, not only could British ships go anywhere in the world, but more importantly – the sailors would still be fit to fight when they got there.
Who would have thought that the humble lime could lead to world domination!
The active ingredient in the lime which cured scurvy is of course, vitamin C. Now let’s put that into a modern context; no pharmaceutical company could patent the lime today (or vitamin C for that matter). That means that nobody would be prepared to foot the bill for the mega expensive testing required today in order to prove that limes/vitamin C was in fact a “medicine” for scurvy. A pharmaceutical company would therefore have to extract the vitamin C from the lime and attach it to another molecule, so that they could have something to patent as a ”cure for scurvy”. The molecule that the vitamin C is attached to would by necessity have to be man-made in order to meet the requirements of the patent and this man-made element often leads to side-effects (which often require further drugs to address).
Coming back to Dr Clark, her protocol recommends many natural products and herbs, though they have to be organic and very pure in quality. One of them for example is the common spice, turmeric. I recently saw a report on how a pharmaceutical trial was having success against cancer with turmeric and they were hopeful of being able to make a drug out of it.
Why make a drug out of it?
Why not just use the pure turmeric like Dr Clark?
The answer is course that pure turmeric cannot be patented for huge profits.
After Dr Clark went solo, she set up a research facility in the US. Unfortunately she was hounded out by the financial interests of the pharmaceutical companies and the medical establishment. She therefore re-located to Mexico. She now primarily works with cancer patients who are considered terminal by conventional medicine. She has had so much success with these so called “terminal” patients that she can no longer be ignored and the medical establishment has been grudgingly forced to accept her.
Much of today’s so called cutting edge cancer research is implementing what Dr Clark was doing years ago. The Clark protocol as mentioned in my previous posting on the subject is very intense and consuming. The requirement for very pure high quality natural products also makes it very expensive. However, if you have cancer and you have the resources (full time carers, money) it is a worthwhile protocol to pursue. If you don’t have these resources, then it is still worth looking at and implementing whatever sections that you can do in order to support your primary treatment.
