There is an ever growing trend for people to turn to natural health solutions as so many pharmaceutical drugs have unpleasant side effects. Coupled with this is a growing distrust of the pharmaceutical companies and mainstream medical systems.
Pharmaceutical companies have lobbied in both Northern America and Western Europe (European Community) to remove our legal right to decide for ourselves whether or not to take natural health supplements.
I would ask you to watch the attached video narrated by Dame Judi Dench (“M” in James Bond), which was recorded in 2005. Although the politics quoted are now a little bit out of date, it still shows the mind set of many of our decision makers and how vulnerable our legal right to decide for ourselves is being threatened. It is quite frightening to think that this could happen today in our democratic societies.

It’s sobering to realise that our freedom of choice can so easily be taken away. It seems that in most societies today big corporations are rarely held accountable for damage they do and their increasing power to infringe on our rights as consumers is very worrying. The video is a great wake up call.

I agree with you totally, it’s all about money and power and manipulation of the democratic process. As one of my friends puts it, “democracy” really means “demon-crazy”. I don’t quite go that far myself, but I know where he is coming from
