Interesting article about this intriguing topic. I think that with any alternative medicine there are benefits and drawbacks. Personally, I’m a proponent of this product and have noticed that my immune system is boosted by it affects.

With argyria (turning blue) it is NOT parts per million that you need to worry about, it is the size of the silver particles. Argyria is normally associated with home made silver using your own generator. The home manufacture method is not reliable and the size of silver particle can be relatively large. These large particles get trapped under the skin and react with sunlight, turning you blue.
Some modern colloidal silvers like my own brand use tiny nano particles that are too small to become trapped under the skin. They are small enough to enter red blood cells and go anywhere in the body that the blood goes, killing pathogens. Obviously red blood cells do not get trapped in the body, so neither will the silver nano particles. If you are using a brand that has nano particles, it does not matter what ppm or dosage you take, you will never get argyria as the particles will never become trapped in the body and will alway pass through you.
I refer you to a report on silver in general by the US Environmental Protection Agency where they confirm that silver does not usually build up in the body unlike heavy metals: http://www.epa.gov/ncea/iris/subst/0099.htm

Check the bottle of colloidal silver that you are using; if it has nano particles it will say on the bottle.

I recently began taking colloidal silver internally 15 ppm at approximately 1 tbl per day, which dosage was based on a formula I read based on weight x 12 divided by ppm. My 12 year old son also began taking the colloidal silver. Tonight, my friend forwarded me an email with photo she received from a chemist who developed argyria from taking colloidal silver.

I know that proponents of silver usage will say that, if taken in proper dosages, colloidal silver will not cause argyria. But, I want to be certain. Do you know, with assurity, the correct way to calculate the correct dosage to take daily, including the ppm? This would go a long way to alleviate my fear about continuing to use it for my family, as the last thing I want to do is turn myself and the people I love blue.
