The Truth About HIV / AIDS (Part 1)

June 23, 2008 · 14 Comments

There is a lot of discussion, particularly amongst the alternative therapies community about the whole HIV/AIDS hypothesis.  A number of scientific papers by eminent scientists and books have been written, debunking the whole HIV/AIDS theory.
To understand the situation better, it is best to take a look at the history of how it came about.  In the 1960’s, Nixon declared war on cancer.  At that time it was believed that cancer might be caused by a category of viruses know as retro-viruses.  This was because retro-viruses cause cells to multiply (with cancer, cells multiply out of control). The US spent about 20 years and 20 billion dollars investigating retro-viruses and cancer, yet could not find a single clinically significant retro-virus. Job prospects for retro-virologists were looking rather bleak.
However, the French came to the rescue in the early 1980’s when they were studying a group of homosexuals suffering from an immune deficiency and also (conveniently) some of them had traces of a retro-virus. Samples were sent to the American retro-virologists.  This consequently led to one of these retro-virologists, Dr Robert Galo, announcing that he had found the cause of AIDS.  Subsequent studies found that 99 to 100% of the French homosexuals who were found to have this immune deficiency where abusing amole nitrates (poppers), which give men a more intense orgasm.  At that time (the 80’s) taking poppers was quite common in the gay community, which was just really starting to open up in a big way and fight for gay rights.

It is important to note here that poppers are a known immune system suppressant.  If you use them continually, you will acquire an immune deficiency however healthy you may be now.

Another very important point to note is that only about 40% of the homosexuals in the French study actually had traces of the retro-virus.

To sum up, 99 to 100% of the study group were abusing a known immune suppressant, whilst only about 40% had traces of a retro-virus that 20 years and $20billion found clinically insignificant.  Despite this and the fact that Dr Robert Galo was later found guilty of scientific fraud for taking credit for the French discovery, the US government declared war on HIV/AIDs and a huge gravy train was gathering momentum.

Those of us around in the 80’s will recall that AIDS was primarily associated with gay people and drug addicts at the time.  As discussed, drugs will lower your immune system so that would account for drug addicts and the gay people who were using poppers acquiring an immune deficiency.  As much of mainstream society back then was intolerant of the fledgling gay rights movement, and drug users have never been popular; it made them easy targets to blame for what was perceived as a new oncoming epidemic.  I don’t remember the figures, but it was predicted back in the 80’s that AIDS would be killing off masses all over the globe by now.  Being able to blame unpopular groups in society helped the gravy train to build up even more speed as the rest of us would need to be saved from them.

Then it all gets a lot better . . . . not.

The first main drug used to treat anybody diagnosed as HIV positive was AZT.  Bearing in mind that HIV is supposed to damage your immune system, AZT was originally created as a form of chemotherapy.  So what does chemotherapy do to your immune system?  It devastates it.

Furthermore, AZT had (during the war on cancer) been rejected as it was excessively toxic (even by chemotherapy standards).  So if you were HIV positive at that time, you would be given a drug that would lead you to acquire an immune deficiency.

    You are falling into the same trap that denialists have fallen into. Your blog post could not be any more incorrect…HIV is real…its effects are real and it is not caused by abusing drugs as you and denialists contend. Hopefully your blog sees very little traffic because you are misleading many people. Talk only of what you know…and remember it is not rectovirus…that mistake in and of itself makes me question your credibility.

    Hi Mark

    Thank for you comment and for correcting my typo. I knew when I put the posting on my blog that it would probably be contentious for some people. However, having had a friend is HIV positive, I made a point of finding out more, beyond the party line. This is something that I feel passionately about. As I have mentioned in my posting, eminent scientist have written papers & a number of books have been written on the subject, so it is not something that I made up on my own. It is however something that I made a point of learning about.

    I firmly believe that anybody affected by HIV/AIDS has the right to hear both sides of the story and to make their own mind up. I do not try to silence people like you (I authorised your comment), so I do not think that people like me should be silenced. People diagnosed HIV postive have the right to decide for themselves.

    In my posting, I have given reasons for my beliefs. As I have provided a logical argument, I don’t think that I am a “denialist”, I consider myself to be a logical realist (who happens to have a different point of view from you). You have not addressed any of the arguments that I have included. You have chosen instead to attack my personal credibility and wish me ill-will towards the success of my blog (which is actually growing in readership all the time).

    I have always been ready to engage in debate. I respect your view point and ask you to respect mine. As I feel passionately about this subject there will be a further posting on it. I would appreciate it if any further comments would be kept less personal in nature. That said, please keep posting :)

    PS: My friend is still going strong almost 20 years after being diagnosed HIV positive.

    In my opinion quality colloidal silver is excellent to use for those who are HIV positive. Perhaps the best thing to come along for HIV is an extract of the common oleander plant with the toxins removed. A herbal supplement based on such an extract has been 100% successful in reversing HIV symptoms (primarily CD4 counts).

    For more information see:

    And for more information about oleander itself, see the oleander series of articles at:

    So are you trying to tell us Amole Nitrate abuse is common in Africa – hence the huge problem with HIV there?

  • charliedw // October 23, 2008 at 4:34 pm | Reply

    Hi Banana
    No, I am not suggesting that at all. Amole Nitrate abuse is also linked with Kaposi’s Sarcoma. That is a form of wasting cancer where you get liesions on your body (as portrayed by Tom Hanks in the film Philidephia). This complaint is not common in Africa, but in the 1980′s was almost the signature of AIDS in the West.
    AIDS suffers in Africa tend to show the symptons of parasitic infection, malnutrition and startvation. Now there’s a surprise for Africa!
    Why would a disease like AIDS have different symptons on different continents? That does not make scientific sense.

  • Arthur Gittleman // January 1, 2009 at 4:13 pm | Reply

    The reason that symptons in Africa are diffenent is because the HIV virus is different. There is more of wasting in Africa version than West. There are verious different subtypes of HIV. They are not all the same as some people assume. I should also mention an intereting fact that is ignored that when using HIV drug when resistance occurs the virus is weakened sometimes by 2/3. It is than easier to treat using herbs that may not be considered strong inhibits of HIV compared to HIV drugs. This kind of things is not normally tried but it leaves a question about how to treat HIV. I have treated FIV which is a weaker virsus using HIV drugs and had them fail followed by herbs and the herbs produced undetectable virus that the HIV drugs would not. Mutations of virus changes the sequence and this has effect on the virus. Not sure what happens when you change most of the sequence if you still have a virus?

    Different versions for different continents? That doesn’t fly in the age of globalization when avian flu mixes with swine flu mixes with european flu.
    HIV equals AIDS propaganda has been extremely effective. I remember being taught about this at ten years old in school. It’s completely bogus. In Rethinking AIDS, the authors finds numerous cases where the spouses of HIV positive/AIDS patients were not infected even though they kept having sex. AIDS doesn’t leave these risk groups.
    1. Corticosteroid users;
    2. Cocaine/heroin/synthetic variants of these users;
    3. Transplant patients and others taking immune-suppressing drugs;
    4. Immune-suppressing conditions, as were mentioned in the article, parasitic infections and chronic malnutrition.

    The public health folks needed a cash cow, and boy did they make one.
    Thanks for posting this, Charlie!

    Hi Micah
    Very well said :)

  • brent // May 8, 2009 at 1:16 am | Reply

    I believe that you people are forgetting one very important fact in regards to those massive Aids/HIV numbers in Africa,and that would be that just a very few of those people that supposedly died of Aids was actually tested for the disease.
    In Africa if you die of cholera,diahrrea,TB they list your death as an AIDS related death. Very few people in Africa have ever been tested for the HIV anti-body simply because it would be much to expensive to test all those people.

  • brent // May 8, 2009 at 1:26 am | Reply

    There is absolutely no way anyone could convince me otherwise that AZT was not solely responsible for the vast majority of Aids related deaths.
    I knew of 3 young men that found out that they tested positive for HIV and started taking AZT and died horrible deaths within a few months to a year.
    The medical community decided that Aids might kill you,and that AZT might kill you,but AZT might kill the Aids so wtf do they have lose,either way the patient was probably going to die according to the prevalent medical opinion at the time.

  • brent // May 8, 2009 at 1:29 am | Reply

    Oh by the way i forgot to mention that these kids that i knew that died of aids ranged in ages 21-23. So if present medical theory on aids in right and that being HIV takes about 8-10 years before it turns into Aids. So those guys got infected when they were 13-15 years of age? No freaking way.
    Oh by the way i do know for a fact that one of those young men was a heroin addict and the other was a dance in New York and was a big popper user,the other guy i really don’t know if he did such activities.

    Hi Brent

    Thanks for your comments. I agree with your comments on Africa. In fact I read a long time ago that when they do the test, the criterion is different in Africa to the West. On the test there are so many “bars” that have to reacte with the blood for a person to be considered positive. In the US and Europe it is 3 bars, in Africa it is only 2, making it easier to diagnose Africans as positive. I don’t know if that is still the case, but it seem quite racist to me.

    As for AZT, that was originally made as chemotherapy for cancer. It was shelved (back in the 60′s I believe) for being excessively toxic. I’m with you on this one, what is the point in giving somebody who supposedly has a immune destroying disease, something that will definitely destroy their immune system.

    Heroin and poppers will also wear down your immune system too.

    Thanks again Brent for your contribution.

    Why , hasn’t our gov.& Dr. R. Galo been sued for any of the wrongful aids deaths.After all Dr Galo was pardoned by President Clinton,and you have to commit a crime to get a pardon.I think many of us know the hiv was gov. made by Dr . Galo.
    I am just surprised no one has filed a wrongful death suit.I think that is yet to come, and I believe it will come soon with many filed law suits.
