The One Minute Cure (Part 1)

July 1, 2009 · 5 Comments

A book that is doing the rounds right now and becoming very popular is The One Minute Cure:  The Secret To Healing Virtually All Diseases.   The book quotes examples of people with (amongst other things) advanced cancer and HIV/AIDS returning to full health.

As regular readers will know, I am not a fan of the pharmaceutical companies and I am interested in alternative health methods.  I therefore brought the book and I thought I would share my humble opinion with you.

Firstly though, I will emphasise that although I consider myself to be quite well informed, I have no medical training and this is just my opinion.  It should not be considered as medical advice.

I did not agree with all that was said in the book, but its bottom line reasoning does make a lot of sense to me.  The book reasons that as our bodies are 70% to 80% water and water is 89% oxygen (by weight); then our bodies are 62% to 71% oxygen.  We can go without food and drink for days or even weeks, but will only last minutes without oxygen.  Oxygen really is THE most important element for human life.  We always feel better for a bit of fresh air, yet sluggish when staying indoors or in a smoky environment for too long.

Viruses, pathogenic bacteria and even cancer cells are anaerobic (thrive without oxygen) whilst the useful probiotic bacteria are aerobic (need oxygen).  So every cell in our body as well as the good bacteria that supports our life, all need a good supply of oxygen; whilst viruses, pathogenic bacteria and defective cells (like cancer cells) die in the presence of too much oxygen.  The One Minute Cure continues that we seldom get enough oxygen, especially if we live in areas of high pollution (always associated with higher disease rate and chemical sensitivity).

The One Minute Cure also quotes a theory stating that viruses and pathogenic bacteria do not in themselves cause disease, they look for an environment that they can thrive in (low oxygen).  I would argue that viruses and pathogens do actually cause disease, but obviously a well oxygenated body will fight the disease a lot more efficiently.

So bearing in mind than most of us do not have the time to spend all day on a mountain side practising deep breathing exercises, how do we efficiently oxygenate our bodies every day?

The One Minute Cure gives two main methods, the first being ozone therapy.  Oxygen is usually in the form of O2, that is 2 oxygen atoms joined together.  Ozone is O3, which is 3 oxygen atoms joined together.  You can see then that ozone provide an extra oxygen atom which obviously helps to super-oxygenate the body.  However, specialist equipment is needed and it can not easily be self administered.  If you go to a therapist, it can get expensive too.

The other method is much simpler and much more available.  It is simply to dilute an easily obtainable oxygen rich substance in pure water.  However, it comes with a warning as it can be dangerous if not applied properly:
1.      It must be diluted properly
2.     It must be food grade (no other grade)
3.     It must be taken several hours apart from food

If the guidelines are followed, then it is very safe, very cheap and supposedly very effective.  I am not going to name the substance here because to be blunt, I don’t want to be responsible for somebody not doing it right, harming themselves or their loved ones and then blaming me.  I won’t take that responsibility, so get the book and do it right.

Where I did not completely agree with the book is that it slates the pharmaceutical companies and the nutritional supplement industry.  I agree with most of what it says about the pharmaceutical companies, but I do acknowledge that we need them for some things (when natural methods are exhausted).  As for the nutritional supplements industry, I agree that there are a lot of products that do not live up to their claims or hype and are a waste of money.  However, with a bit of research you can find some very powerful nutritional supplements, yet The One Minute Cure (although not saying it outright) gives the impression that all nutritional supplements are a waste (which I can not agree with).  That said, the best nutritional supplements do tend to be more expensive, yet the One Minute Cure does offer a much cheaper alternative, that potentially may do the same job.

It also refers to colloidal silver stating that it can turn you blue (yawn – not that one again)!  I have answered that one so many times I will not bother here, but again The One Minute Cure does insinuate the worst case scenario, rather than a balanced overview.

It also quotes that 15,000 European doctors, naturopaths and homeopaths have administered this substance to over 10 million patients.  Without actually saying so, it gives that impression that this substance was administered in isolation.  However, I suspect that it was administered as part of a protocol along with other supplements (just my guess).

Overall however, I thought The One Minute Cure made a lot of sense and though I have doubts that it can completely cure virtually all diseases on its own, I does make sense that it will assist the body in fighting most diseases, viruses and pathogens, and increase the chances of returning to health.  I also believe that it is a good cheap maintenance method to help prevent you from getting ill in the first place (much cheaper than the best nutritional supplements).  I have some of the substance on order and am looking forward to trying it out.  I’ll let you know what I find.

High Levels Of Vitamin D Can Help You Survive Prostrate Cancer

March 20, 2009 · 2 Comments

In a recent newsletter by Dr Mercola, he reports on a study which demonstrates that vitamin D from sunlight can reduce the risk of prostrate cancer.  160 prostrate cancer sufferers were categorised as having either low, medium or high levels of vitamin D.  Over the course of the study, sadly 52 men died from their prostrate cancers.  The highest death rate was amongst those with the lowest levels of vitamin D.  Those with high levels of Vitamin D were found to be 7 times less likely to die.

Dr Mercola points out that in the USA, prostrate cancer is the second most common form of cancer amongst men and it is estimated that an enormous 1 in 6 American men will suffer with it during their life time.

Getting more sunlight (even in the UK where I live) is really a matter of lifestyle.  Simple lifestyle changes can make a big difference to your chances of surviving prostrate cancer, or even preventing it from developing in the first place.

Although this study is good news, it is not really new.  Both Dr Hulda Clark and Dr Budwig who pioneered much of the alternative/complementary approach to fighting cancer recommended as much sunlight as possible decades ago.  It seems that the mainstream is only just now catching up.  The Clark protocol is very detailed an difficult to follow.  However, it is easy and quite cheap to include elements of the Budwig Oil-Protein Diet into your daily diet.

If you fear that you may be at risk of any type of cancer (or if you already have it), then get as much sunlight as you can and get yourself the Oil-Protein Diet Book.  Both are simple lifestyle changes that can really make a big difference and possibly save your life.

Why Attitudes To Sunlight Exposure Are Likely To Be Radically Changed

December 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

A study has shown that Vitamin D significantly increases levels of intracellular glutathione.  The hormone glutathione in turn helps to remove mercury from the body.

Furthermore, Vitamin D assists in inducing giloma cell death, which could makes it of possible use for the management of brain tumours.  To elaborate on this point, when healthy cells divide one cell will mature and die, whilst the “daughter” cell will continue to grow maintaining a balance.  Cancer cells do not mature like ordinary cells do, so whey they divide both resultant cells continue to grow and divide again (hence no cell death leading to tumour growth).  At first glance, assisting cell death may not sound good, but in the context of cancer cells it is a very good thing.

A key principle of the Dr Clark anti cancer protocol is the removal of all heavy metals (especially mercury) from the body and has used Vitamin D for many years.  Dr Budwig’s anti cancer diet, whilst emphasising on use of healthy oils to maintain cellular health is based on allowing the cancer cells to divide and fully mature so as to allow them to die naturally (whereas other cancer therapies are based on preventing cell division).

Vitamin D is not very readily available in out diet, with fish liver being the only significant source.  The main source of Vitamin D is UV sun-light direct on our skin.   It is ironic then that over the last couple of decades, too much sun-light has been associated with causing cancer and the suntan lotion industry has thrived.  Being 46 myself, we hardly bothered with it as children, whereas parents today are very cautious with their children when the sun comes out.  It has been suggested that the official guidlines on exposure to sun-light (and blocking it out with lotions) are almost certain to be revised as research into Vitamin D continues.  In the meantime,  I think the key word has to be the much used advice by wise people the World over and that is: “moderation”.

Incidentally both Dr Clark and Dr Budwig recommended getting as much sun-light as reasonably possible (obviously without burning yourself).

Other research into Vitamin D has found that it can prevent or treat infections & inflammation, depression & neurological disorders, colds and flu, diabetes, osteoporosis, tuberculosis and much more.

The Budwig Oil-Protein Diet (Part 3): Oleolox

October 15, 2008 · 2 Comments

As with Part 1 and 2 of this posting, the Budwig Oil-Protein diet which has applications for cancer sufferers to athletes, is very versatile.  Another important component is Oleolox (don’t ask me how to pronounce it, I have enough trouble spelling it).

Oleolox is very simple to make.

Ingredients:
     250g coconut oil/fat
     125cc Flax Seed Oil
     1 onion
     10 garlic cloves

Put the Flax Seed Oil in the freezer to chill for half an hour.  Slice onion and brown it slightly in the coconut oil for about 15 minutes.  Then add 10 garlic cloves and heat for another 3 minutes.  Strain the coconut oil through a sieve into the chilled Flax Seed Oil, mix in and store in the fridge.

When it cools down it becomes solid (though soft) and is ready to use.  It can be used as a spread just like butter though it is a matter of taste.  I like it, some don’t.  It can be used as a salad dressing and to flavour stews or casseroles.  But as with the Flax oil/quark/milk mix in Part 2 of this posting, warm by all means but don’t boil it or you damage the electron field of the Flax Seed Oil.  It is this electron field that gives Flax Seed Oil its health giving properties.

Many uses for Oleolox are given in Dr Budwig’s recipe book.  Although I have been advised that the Flax Seed Oil will negate the effects of a dairy allergy (Part 2) when using it with quark and milk, the advantage of Oleolox is that there is no dairy at all.

The Budwig Oil-Protein Diet (Part 2): How To Use It

October 12, 2008 · 1 Comment

At the heart of the Budwig Oil-Protein diet is Flax Oil and Cottage Cheese or Quark (protein).  As mentioned in Part 1 of this posting, the protein makes the the essential fatty acids more soluble and hence better absorbed by the body.

Before going any further, many people will be saying, “yes, but I have a dairy allergy”.  So did my Michele, but our therapist told us that good done by the flax oil would over-ride the damage of the dairy.  She was allowed to take dairy, but only with the flax oil.  However, I would suggest that you discuss this with your own doctor or therapist if you have any doubts.

Dr Budwig has written a receipe book which contains quite a variety.  One recurring part however is the following key ingredients mixed together in a blender:

3 tblsp of Flax Seed Oil
        100grams of Quark
        2 tblsp of milk

This gives a slightly thick yogurt like consistency which is the base for numerous uses.  It can be sweetened with a tblsp of honey and used as a topping for breakfast (on top of fruit and blended mix of linseeds and honey (we found this topping a bit thick and added a little extra milk, but try to your own taste).

You can make an type of ice cream from it by adding honey, fruit, fruit juice concentrate, cocoa or whatever you can dream up to flavour it.  We found banana was one of the best, but its up to your taste and imagination.  I would often double or treble the quantities and use some for breakfast and some for ice cream to cut down on time and work.

If you add honey, fruit, ice and extra milk, you can make a fruit smoothie out of it.

If you are trying to keep sugar free, then you might like to replace the honey with stevia, which is very sweet and all natural.

With an extra tbsp of milk, 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp of mustard and some salt, you can make a mayonnaise substitute.  Several variations are given in the recipe book as well as recipes for chutney.

You can experiment for yourself too.  Bearing in mind that food should not be cooked in oil (even good oils get damaged by over heating), I used to prepare meat and vegetables in a frying pan with a lid and a small amount of water.  The lid creates extra pressure which allows the water/steam to reach higher temperatures than it can at atmospheric pressure, though you do need to keep a close eye to make sure it does not boil dry.  I would then add the basic blend (quark/flax oil/milk) with grated cheese, salt and herbs to make a white cheese sauce (not in Budwig’ recipebook, but we liked it).  I would heat it only until the cheese melted as overheating would damage its healing properties.

Another alternative was to use it as a curry base (many curries use yogurt which is similar consistency).  Again cook meat and vegetables as above, adding curry spices.  When it is cooked add the mix (with more spices if you like and again heat it but don’t boil it.

As mentioned in my previous posting, this diet is used by people with a wide range of chronic diseases and by athletes looking to improve their energy level for maximum performance (and not have to worry about drug testing).  It is versatile, quite tasty, and relatively cheap compared to other diets (especially cancer diets).

I would recommend Budwig’s recipe book to anybody interesting in maintaining their health, or anybody that fears that they might be in a risk category.  I still use it regularly myself, especially the ice creams as I can make up a big quantity and freeze it . . . . yes I’m lazy :)    Sadly it’s too late for my Michele, but it might not be for you or your loved one.  If you only buy one book this year, I recommend that you make it this one.

The Budwig Oil-Protein Diet (Part1): For Cancer, Heart Infraction, Arthritis And Atheletes!

October 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Budwig oil-protein diet is not new, the work of Dr Johanna Budwig (7 times Nobel Prize nominee) has been around for decades as she devoted 50 years of her life to these studies.  She passed away in 2003 at the age of 95.  But it still surprises me how few people have ever heard of it.

We all know how toxins in the body will damage our health and well being.  Well Dr Budwig, a specialist in oils and fats, studied how highly unsaturated essential fatty acids when combined with high quality protein (which makes the essential fatty acids easily soluble), counteract toxins and poisonous build ups in our body tissue.

Budwig found that commercially processed fats and oils damage our cell membranes, lowering the voltage of our cells.  We often forget that our bodies are electrical with our cell nucleus being positively charged and the cell membranes being negatively charged.  Simply put, pure unsaturated fatty acids have an active electron field that works with our cell membranes to keep them negatively charged (and the cell “battery” live).  When these unsaturated acids are processed or cooked at high temperature, they lose their electron field so they can no longer supply our cell membranes.  This results in our cells losing their electrical charge (like a flat battery).

When cells begin to divide they should be bipolar (positive nucleus, negative membrane) so that they can divide properly.  This is why essential unsaturated fatty acids are “essential”; because without the electron field that they supply, new cells cannot be formed properly and we get chronic diseases.  As we are talking about cell reproduction, this can effect literally any part of our body.

It also stops the cell maturation and shedding process, where the cell would normally mature and die off, and then be cleared from our bodies.  As the cells do not mature, and do not die, but continue to divide and produce more cells that will not mature and will not die; this leads to tumour production.  Where as most cancer therapies look to killing cancer cells and stopping them dividing, Budwig is totally different in that she seeks to enable them to grow and mature, so that they can then die off in the normal way (without chemotherapy and whilst strengthing the rest of the body too).

When living tissue rejects fat, our body has a mechanism to isolate it (which it does to most toxins that it cannot process normally).  These “isolated fats”, then get deposited by the body in places where fats would not normally be found.  Muscles affected with rheumatism where found to have isolated fats where as healthy muscles did not.  Cancer cells contain isolated fats too.

One of the core principle of Budwigs diet is to stop using any processed fats and oils, and to stop cooking with any fat or oil (stop putting toxins in).  However, oil with pure unsaturated essential fatty acids should be consumed, but not cooked at high temperature (which takes toxins out).

Budwig recommends Organic Flax Oil as the best source for unsaturated fatty acids.  She recommends mixing it with cottage cheese or quark (a German soft cheese) to make the unsaturated fatty acids more soluble and easily absorbed by the body.

The diet is suplemented by massages and enemas with ELDI (Electron Differentiation) oils.  This oil is not taken orally.

As such it can help with a number of chronic diseases by removing the toxic load.  I tried this diet with my partner, Michele before she passed away.  Obviously it did not save her life.  However, I think that by the time we started this diet she was too far gone with the cancer and had hardly any appetite left at all.  It was very hard to persuade her to eat or do the other parts of her therapy towards the end.  However, if you Google “oil protein diet” you will find that many people swear by it and that it has saved an enormous number of other lives.

Furthermore, compared with some of the other cancer diets, it is quite versatile and relatively inexpensive.  Many cancer diets (like the Coy diet), whilst effective, require special foods which are expensive.  Coy products are also difficult to get outside of Germany too.  The popular Gerson diet requires fruit and vegetable juices every hour also gets expensive because of the shear volume of organic fruit and vegetables you need to purchase, not to mention the how much time it takes to preparing it all.

The most exotic items in the Budwig diet are cottage cheese (or quark) and organic flax oil.  I know that cost is not the main concern when looking after a loved one, but if you start missing mortgage payments, it puts even more pressure and stress in your lives which nobody needs.  Although it was too late in the day to save my Michele, I would still recommend it for the following reason:

  • It is quite flexible and versatile, allowing a good variety of different flavours.
  • It HAS saved many lives.
  • It is not only used by sick people, it is also used by some athletes to get them into peak condition.
  • It is relatively inexpensive compared to other cancer diets.

I still use parts of this diet regularly to improve my own health and as a preventative (though I’m not enamoured to try the ELDI oil enema yet).  Next posting I will talk more about applying the diet.

Passing Of My Partner, Michele: Lessons Learnt

September 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have mentioned a number of times on this blog that I am the carer for my partner Michele who has cancer.  Sadly, Michele passed away on 25th August after fighting it for over 2 years.  She was a very brave and remarkable women who had to make enormous sacrifices in her life to protect her loved ones; but that is a story for another time.

I have previously written about various cancer therapies and diets, some of which we have tried.  Several well meaning friends commented after Michele’s passing, “if only she had taken the chemotherapy”.  Well Michele did take herseptin, which is supposed to be a gentle alternative and even that made her violently ill, so I am not sure that she would have coped with the chemo anyway.

On the surface Michele did not appear to be a natural candidate for cancer.  She did not smoke, seldom drank alcohol, regularly exercised and took supplements.  However, Michele suffered enormous amounts of trauma and stress for very prolonged periods of her life.  Stress is known to be a contributing factor to cancer and when Michele was first diagnosed, she was already emotionally burnt out (adrenal fatigue).  Conventional cancer therapies and many alternative cancer therapies focus primarily on the physical, leaving out the emotional and spiritual.  We made the same mistake to a certain extent.  My very first postings on this blog was about the Hulda Clark Protocol which I concluded was very effective, but required so much work that you would need several full time carers in order to be able to do it properly.  The amount of work involved actually caused yet more stress.

I believe that despite Michele being an extremely strong women, she would have had trouble recovering from her cancer whatever treatment path she had chosen (be it conventional or alternative) because of the years of emotional damage.  If we could have a second chance, the thing that I would address first would be that emotional damage.  I would also advise anybody diagnosed with cancer who has suffered a lot of trauma, to deal with the trauma straight away (and possibly first).

Michele hated her therapy, which caused her even more stress.  If Michele could have accepted the therapy, perhaps with an attitude of gratitude that she did at least have the choice, then I believe that she would have had a better chance of being alive now.  I don’t say this to criticise her, I say it in case it helps others in the same situation (whether following conventional or alternative therapies).  Also, in the long term, it would probably have cost us less money to address the emotional problems first as she would have probably responded better to her treatment and been a lot more co-operative in doing it.

Michele was highly respected and loved by me and by those that knew her and will be sadly missed.  I have pondered for several days as to whether I should write this or not, but I am confident that if this helps somebody in a similar position then she would want to me to write it.

Is Cancer A Fungus?

August 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Italian Oncologist, Dr Tullio Simoncini has written a book called “Cancer Is A Fungus”, where he outlines his studies showing that fungi are at the root of all cancers.  In 2005, cancer overtook heart disease as the number one killer in the USA.  But despite its prevalence and all the wonders of modern science, cancer is still considered by many to be a mystery.  Not so to Dr Simoncini.

In a video interview with Doug Kaufman (available on Dr Mercola’s e-newsletter), Dr Simoncini show some film taken from inside cancer victims bodies.  At the middle of the cancerous tumour it is . . . . white.  Sometimes it appears red, but Dr Simoncini show how with a little bit of washing away of blood it is white.  This says Dr Simoncini is fungi, particularly Candida, which several studies have shown to be present in 79 to 97% of all cancer patients.

Dr Simoncini says that cancer develops in 5 stages:

1     Candida roots itself deep into connective tissue of various organs.
2     The body attempts to protect itself by hyper production of cells to encapsulate the fungus.  This becomes the tumour.
3     Candida spreads to other parts of the body, whilst the body attempts to encapsulate it (metastasis).
4     The body becomes more and more exhausted, which allows the fungi to spread even faster.
5     Death.

So if fungus (particularly Candida) is the problem, what is the answer?  Well according to Dr Simoncini, the easy, quick and cheap way to treat cancer is

. . . . . wait for it

. . . . . sodium bicarbonate (baking soda).

Sodium bicarbonate is a very potent anti fungal agent, which can rapidly raise the alkalinity whilst the fungi needs to stay acidic.  The  sodium bicarbonate is actually injected straight into the center of the tumours and (according to Dr Simoncini) 99% of breast and bladder cancers can be cured in only 6 days (though the body will still have to breakdown the tumour).  It should be noted that just taking the sodium bicarbonate orally is not enough.

A quick search for Dr Simoncini on YouTube.com will find a number of testimonials and presentations.  You can also find out more from Dr Simoncini’ own website or buy his book on Amazon.

Note:  Candida is associated with many health problems today.  Many good supplements that help keep the body alkaline well help.

Can You Trust Chemotherapy

August 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

As regular readers will probably have realised, I am wary of chemotherapy and like to explore other methods of treating cancer.  I recently found a very good article on the subject by a Dr Buttar who actually treats and researches cancer in the USA, using holistic methods.  He explains why it is sometimes the chemotherapy that kills rather than the cancer and how it is misrepresented in the media.

His article sumerises how I feel very well and I would like to recommend it to you.
